Nourish students run Ventures to raise money
Since 2003, Nourish Chapters have raised more than $100,000 through Ventures to eradicate global poverty.
Ventures are on-campus businesses run by Nourish Chapters in order
to raise awareness, build chapter membership and earn money for international
projects. Led by student volunteers, ventures allow college students
in the United States to do something tangible to eradicate poverty from
their campus.
The possibilities for Ventures are endless, but some successful examples include:
- Hunger LunchA simple meal of rice, beans and cornbread sold in a high traffic part of campus.
- Global Music JamChapters partner with local radio stations and dance clubs to put on a globally-themed dance party.
- Hold 'em for HungerA charity poker tournament. Contestants compete for prizes and proceeds go to charity.
